Strength Training
The 20-Minute Workout
We all want to be physically fit. We want to slow the aging process and lower our risk of disease. We want to feel good when we look in the mirror. The secret to achieving these goals is MUSCLE.
Our 20s are prime years for developing lean muscle mass. Strength training and proper nutrition can lead to significant gains during these years. But once we hit 30, our bodies begin to change. Without intervention, we lose an average of 8 to 10 pounds of muscle each decade.
Doctors say rebuilding this lost muscle is key to fitness as we age. That is what we do at 20 Minutes to Fitness.
How it works
At 20 Minutes to Fitness, we have been coaching our clients to slow down their workouts for more than two decades. By working out at a snail’s pace on specially calibrated MedX equipment, we make it possible to achieve in ONE weekly 20-minute session what might take three or more hours in a traditional gym.
How is that possible?
Research shows that slowing down makes muscle fibers fatigue more quickly. As a result, you only spend two to three minutes on each piece of our equipment, which was specially developed for this kind of training.
As your body learns to control movement when presented with resistance, something else happens. Muscles are stimulated to rebuild and strengthen. Our approach also eliminates stress on joints, resulting in a safer workout.
A coach stays at your side throughout each session, setting each piece of equipment for your level of strength and fitness, making sure you use proper form and encouraging you as you approach exhaustion. Without your coach, you’d quit long before you should. By the end of each exercise, you may “feel the burn,” which is a signal to your muscle that it must rebuild itself and grow stronger until your next visit —when you do it all again.
