20 Minutes To Fitness®
Promotes Community Participation In Two Area Health Events
Sarasota Polo Club: On October 21, 2006 at 7:30am registration begins for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The 5K walk followed by a Survivors’ Brunch is part of a national fundraising effort by the American Cancer Society.
Since 1993, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has been the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. In that time, three million walkers have raised more than $194 million through Making Strides. In 2005, more than 400,000 walkers across the country collected more than $34 million.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk that supports the American Cancer Society’s unique mission to fight cancer on four fronts: research, education, advocacy, and patient services.
The schedule is: Registration at 7:30am, Walk at 9:00am, and Survivors’ Brunch at 10:00am. The Sarasota Polo Club is located at 8201 Polo Club Lane in Lakewood Ranch.
"It is important for businesses to promote and participate in worthy causes within our community. We are very pleased to be a part of this great cause and are excited to have several of our company associates and clients participate in this worthy event," states Virginia L. Phillips, President of 20 Minutes To Fitness.
"The second event that we will promote", continues Ms. Phillips "is the Veterans’ Day Blood Drive for Suncoast Blood Services. The blood drive will take place on November 11, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. directly in front of the 20 Minutes To Fitness studio, which located in Lakewood Ranch at 6255 Lake Osprey Drive next to the Holiday Inn. This is a great way to celebrate Veteran’s Day by giving what can literally be the gift of life."
Everyone that donates blood will receive valuable coupons from several area businesses, including Hunker Down Storm Shutters, Begin Productions, Inc., Kennedy Chiropractic Clinic, Naked Bean, The Scrub Shop, Renaissance Digital Imaging and 20 Minutes To Fitness.
