Meet Your Coach

Our staff includes physical therapists, a registered nurse, exercise physiologists, kinesiologists and professional coaches, several of whom have been with us since we first opened. The average tenure for our staff is nearly five years.

Laura Miller, R.N.

Laura Miller, 20 Minutes To Fitness owner and founder, first learned about slow cadence training in a 2001 article in Newsweek. A registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree from Drake University, Laura appreciated the science behind the medically based training regimen and, with her husband, opened 20 Minutes to Fitness in 2003.

 

Kim Bergfeld

Kim received her degree in exercise science from Truman State University in 2007. She then continued on with her education to Washington University in St. Louis to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her time at WashU, Kim worked part time for 20 Minutes to Fitness for over 3 years. After graduation she worked in outpatient physical therapy for 1.5 years before returning to 20 Minutes to Fitness in Clayton to work full time.

 

Casey Breslin

Casey is the General Manager of 20 Minutes to Fitness and has served as our staff physical therapist and fitness coach since 2003. She received a master’s degree in Physical Therapy and a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Casey also holds personal training certification from the International Sports Science Association.

 

Lizz James

Lizz is manager of our Clayton studio location and our nutrition manager. A graduate of Webster University, she has worked for 20 Minutes to Fitness since 2007. She holds a personal training certification with the International Sports Sciences Association and two nutrition certifications with The American Academy of Sports Dietitians Nutritionists.

 

Dave Breslin

Dave joined the 20 Minutes to Fitness staff in 2012 and has a long history in sport. With multiple state cycling championships and long term affinity for amateur hockey, Dave can help improve your fitness, regardless of the direction you want to take.

 

Cameron Paterson

Cameron holds advanced degrees from the University of Arizona, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  He is a varsity Ultimate Frisbee coach and plays both Ultimate and soccer competitively. Cameron joined our team in 2016.

 

Stephanie Brandt

Stephanie graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., with a bachelor of fine arts degree. She has nine years of classical ballet training and four years experience in modern dance. She joined our team in 2012.

 

Elaine Reinberg

Elaine joined the 20 Minutes to Fitness staff in February of 2015. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Missouri in 2012 after receiving a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. After graduation, Elaine practiced at St. Louis Children's Hospital and The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. Elaine will be playing a key role in the creation of our Movement and Mobility services.

 

Darrell Conner

Darrell started at 20 Minutes to Fitness as a personal fitness coach in 2013. He has been a fitness trainer since 2011 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Darrell received his certification through American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Specialist.

 

Megan Hayden

Megan has been a fitness coach here since 2008. She earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Megan received her Personal Training Certification through the Aerobic Fitness Association of America.

 

Debbie Kalman

Debbie is a senior personal fitness coach at our Clayton studio, where she has served our clients since 2005. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

 

Meghan Arney

Megan joined 20 Minutes to Fitness in March of 2015.  She is a Physical Therapist Assistant and Massage Therapist, and received her degree from Lake Land College in 2013.

 

Amy Truitt

Amy joined the 20 minutes to fitness staff in May of 2013. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2013. She enjoys jogging, sand volleyball, and the outdoors.

 

Rick Viehland

Rick has been a personal trainer since 1992 and later became a Medical Exercise Specialist.He has been with 20 Minutes to Fitness since 2010.

 

Pablo Farres

Pablo has been a trainer with 20 Minutes to Fitness since 2016. He played soccer for Midwestern State University in Texas and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

 

Darren Wilson

Darren joined 20 Minutes to Fitness in 2014. He is a certified personal trainer through NASM and has athletic experience in wrestling and cross country running. A graduate from Lindenwood University, Darren is pursuing a master's degree in occupational therapy.

 

Rick Viehland

Rick has been a personal trainer since 1992 and later became a Medical Exercise Specialist.He has been with 20 Minutes to Fitness since 2010.

 

Rachel Stewart

Rachel joined 20 Minutes to Fitness as a personal training coach in February of 2016.  Rachel holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. With a long history in running, triathlons, and lacrosse, Rachel is excited to share her passion for fitness and overall health with her clients.
